About Alius

Alius Renderings

The Alius rendering process affords the artist complete control over every aspect of the photo rendering process, allowing every expression of the original art or photo to be faithfully maintained while delivering a truly one-of-a-kind internal graphic entity as a result. No two Alius renderings (even from the same original photo) ever look identical; each is an individual and deliberate rendition of the subject. Alius is a spectrally-organic photo-graphic interpretation.

Two levels of Artistic Interpretation

In digital photography, a subject’s detail is determined not by the number of pixels in the picture but by the relationship between the image's tonal values and hues. Each rendering involves a process of mapping out all the characteristics and then reassembling those characteristics into a enhanced interpretation of the original subject.

The Rendering Process

Thousands of individual colors are first separated, enhanced, and then reassembled by a proprietary spectral process in such a way that the photo becomes a true one-of-a-kind work of art.

Sharpness is a product of detail and detail is determined by contrast; not the overall dark-to-light kind of contrast, but by the internal contrast. The contrast established between internal tonal ranges or zones seriously enhances the picture.

Detail

Alius provides detail on two different levels within each rendering; the distant detail and the closeup internal structure that builds that distant-view clarity. From a distance, Alius art appears like an unusually detailed (but otherwise “normal”) photo. But when viewed up close, that same Alius rendering reveals an extremely intricate graphic expression that is a separate artistic expression all its own. It is literally graphics up close and articulate photography from a distance.

Uniqueness

There is only one Alius process and only one gallery on the planet that produces this spectacular art. Having an Alius Gallery original hanging is a true statement of individualism. You cannot purchase mass produced prints of any Alius subject from a catalog or art store, each is individually created one at a time for discriminating clients.

Quality Control

Each digital file is color corrected and prepared to reproduce accurately at the size indicated at purchase. The immediately-downloadable file can either be printed on the customer’s printer or emailed to a printing facility for output and mounting; usually a one-day process. If Alius Gallery were to print and mount the artwork, each image's price would cost hundreds of dollars more. With a direct download, the customer saves both money and time. Alius Gallery maintains a list of recommended output services and will commend (without fee) this list to our customers upon request.

Output and Printing

Alius Gallery is not a printing company and thus does not have the financial burden of physical supplies or equipment purchase and upkeep. We are thus able to concentrate on creating outrageous original art files directly to the customer, and do so at an extremely attractive price.

Once the customer makes their selection, they pay the fee and immediately are sent a link to the digital file, sized and prepared for accurate reproduction. Having been in the photography and printing business my whole life, I really know how to prepare art for excellent reproduction. I am a certified Color Management Professional (CMP) which simply means you will receive the most color managed and color corrected file possible, every time.
